What a fun and quirky place to stay for a city trip! The rooms had original Art Deco features and the bedrooms were clean and tidy. The staff were really nice and helpful. I was grateful for the small bar heater and heated blankets, which kept me warm at night. The hotel is located in a great spot near lots of attractions, making it easy to get around.
Sadly, the hotel is quite old and in need of repair. The outside could do with a lick of paint and the rooms could use some soundproofing.

Spent Christmas here and it was a great experience! Convenient location close to good restaurants and cafes. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable! Loved that they had free Wi-Fi and the staff was super friendly and helpful. There was also a lovely garden outside the room which was a nice bonus!
There was a bit of street noise late at night which made it difficult to sleep at times. The walls were a bit thin so you could hear people in the other rooms, but overall, it wasn't too bad.

The hotel is situated in a convenient location, close to various attractions and the attached restaurant served some delicious dishes. The room was surprisingly spacious and tidy, with all the basic amenities we needed.
The cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired, with dirty carpets and stained towels.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely, firm bed. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the WiFi had good bandwidth. The in-house bistro meals were delicious and well-priced. Additionally, the architecture was interesting and still stunning.
None.

My stay at the hotel in Putaruru was very exciting. I felt like I was in a movie, with the vintage bathroom straight out of the fifties. The authentic tiles and fittings added to the experience. The linen was clean, which was a relief. The location of the hotel was perfect, and the staff, particularly Sylvia, were wonderful and friendly. I received a warm welcome and Sylvia even offered me a lift to the nearby Te Waihou walkway. The Te Waihou walkway itself was lovely, with beautiful blue springs. I also enjoyed the delicious coffee at the hotel. it was an exciting experience that I would recommend for those seeking something different.
Can't fault the property in any way. 😄
